I was assigned the task of designing an expressive wearable device featuring a single input and a single output. I developed a concept for a hoodie designed to convey the sensation of embarrassment. When the user experiences embarrassment, they can activate the garment by squeezing a pressure sensor embedded in the sleeve. This action triggers a motorized mechanism that gently closes the hood over the user’s face, creating a physical manifestation of emotional withdrawal. To reset the hood, the user can double-tap the pressure sensor, allowing the hood to return to its original open position. This design explores emotional expression through interactive textiles, emphasizing user experience and personal comfort.
